It went through SO many version because I could never get the colors quite right. I'm still not 100% satisfied with the coloring job, to be honest. I need to get better at coloring.
If you want to know how bad my previous coloring job was and why I kept needing to start over, here's an early WIP:
... Yeah. That just wasn't cutting it for me.
I had a bit of trouble figuring out where the shadows should go, since the room has multiple light sources. Also, some of my highlights didn't really work the way I wanted them to. I think the thing I had the most trouble with was just Shepard's skin color; for a while, no color I tried to use looked quite right.
My favorite part about this is actually the fish tank. That's the part I had the most fun with. I used a lot of layers to make that one. My version of Photoshop didn't come with a brush preset that could make the bubbles the way that I wanted, and I really don't know how to make new brushes, so I edited the star field brush. The grass is totally just the grass brush.
The idea for this pose comes from a photograph of my boyfriend and me cuddling on a couch in a super nice bowling alley, of all things. Then I created the scene in XNA Lara to play with poses and perspectives until I found what I wanted. I used Manga Studio to sketch and ink the drawing, then I used Photoshop to color and edit. I use a Wacom Bamboo Create drawing tablet.
Anyway, sorry this took so long, ~KupiecKorzenny. This was supposed to be done forever ago. I hope you like it.

Overall Vision Originality Technique ImpactI really like this drawing. It is simple yet fulfilling. I think you got the colors fine for this type of piece. My only criticism, (which is nit-picky but you asked) concerns Shepard’s eye. Can’t quite explain the problem, maybe it is just a tab too cartoonish for the overall style.
Otherwise I like it and you captured Garrus nicely. Good back drop and POV with their backs to the fish. The details of the clothing add a good touch and the two figures are well proportioned.
So keep up the good work and don't be so hard on yourself. Nice job.
